On 7 December 2025, Salahaddin University–Erbil (SUE), in coordination with the American University of Kurdistan–Duhok, held the graduation ceremony of the Women’s Leadership Certificate Programme.
The event welcomed the Deputy Consul General of the United States in the Kurdistan Region, the Consul General of Armenia, Professor Dr Kamaran Younis M. Amin, President of SUE, along with presidents of public and private universities and senior party and government official.
The programme was jointly implemented by SUE and the American University of Kurdistan–Duhok. During the ceremony, the President of SUE expressed his appreciation to the partner university for its cooperation in delivering the women’s leadership training course. He also commended the CAPA team for their dedication and continued efforts.
In his remarks, he highlighted the long-standing historical role of Kurdish women in leadership and their growing influence in political and social decision-making. He emphasised that recent legal frameworks, including the quota system, have further strengthened women’s participation in leadership positions across the Kurdistan Region.
The ceremony concluded with congratulations to the participants on their successful completion of the programme and best wishes for their future leadership roles.
