As part of the long-term plan of Prof. Dr Kamaran Younis M. Amin, President of Salahaddin University-Erbil, and in the presence of the University’s Vice Presidents, aimed at digitising all University procedures and achieving a paperless working environment, support services provided to academic and administrative staff through the Directorate of International Relations have been converted to an online system.
These services include requests related to obtaining visas for various purposes, such as participation in training courses, conferences, study support programmes, and other international academic and non-academic activities, as well as personal travel abroad.
According to the newly established procedures, academic and administrative staff can now upload the required documents electronically and no longer need to visit the University Presidency in person to request support letters.
The advantages of this electronic and online system include:
This transformation aligns University procedures with modern developments and the digitalisation initiatives of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
It contributes to increasing activity on the University website and attracting more visitors, which may positively impact the University’s ranking on certain specialised platforms.
It reduces administrative routine and simplifies procedures for academic and administrative staff.
It saves time for academic and administrative staff.
It reduces paper consumption and, indirectly, supports environmental sustainability initiatives in Erbil and the Kurdistan Region.
All future requests will be stored in a database, which forms part of the University’s long-term strategic vision.
Note: After 15 June 2026, support letters must be requested exclusively through the University website.
