Career Development Center (CDC)
Overview
In 2015, IREX organization and partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, supported by the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, established the Career Development Centers (CDCs) in the Kurdistan Region.
The Career Development Center (CDC) of Salahaddin University-Erbil assists students and alums in planning their career paths and discovering professional prospects while at university and after graduation. CDC aligns with the Salahaddin University-Erbil mission of becoming a place of excellence in the region. Also, to help students find a career path that interests them, based on that, CDC provides internships, training, workshops, seminars, job fairs, and programs for career and professional development, in addition to offering assistance and advice throughout various activities and programs supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in partnership with the IREX organization, with the support of the United States Embassy/ Baghdad.
Vision
Our vision is to reinforce SUE students and alums to find a lifetime of professional success that aligns with their interests and talents and assists them navigate the always-shifting job market.
Mission
Our mission is to provide students and alums with resources and support to assist them in achieving their career goals by building specialized connections and engaging them with employers in the Kurdistan region. Also, assistance in linking students with industrial sectors, companies, and organizations, by facilitating students to develop leadership, networks, and communication skills, in addition to managing training opportunities.

- Arrange seminars, workshops, and networking events to put students in touch with alumni and employers.

- Keeping up-to-date lists for internships and jobs, both on and off campus.

- Providing meetings to facilitate students explore their interests, skills, and values, and make informed decisions about their career paths.
- Assist students create effective resumes and cover letters.
- Providing access to various resources, such as career-related books, archives, and online tools.
- Maintain connection with alumni to offer guidance and mentorship to current students.
- Organizing job fairs where students can meet and interact with potential employers.
Student Engagement
Developing appropriate tools to increase student awareness and engagement with CDC services. Include marketing campaigns, partnerships with faculty members, and the use of digital tools and platforms for outreach.
Partnerships and Collaboration
Our CDC has functioned and continues to establish and nurture relationships with international institutions, organizations, and companies, in addition to local employers, alums, and other universities to create opportunities for students.
