International Relations Office
The International Relations Office provides guidance and assistance to the university’s leadership, faculty, researchers, and students in engaging with international projects and initiatives. Its primary role is to enhance the university’s global presence and foster international collaboration. A core responsibility includes designing, negotiating, preparing, and executing student exchange programs, with a particular focus on mandatory mobility for the Split-Site PhD candidates.
The International Relations Office is responsible for
- Coordinating and promoting the Erasmus+ program, primarily regarding student mobility.
- Facilitating mobility opportunities for faculty and staff.
- Handling partnerships and agreements (e.g., Memorandum of Understanding) with universities worldwide.
- Collaborating with international universitas to manage international conferences and workshops.
- Providing students and staff with information on global academic and research opportunities.
- Arranging and engaging in international visits and collaborations.
In addition, The International Relations Office has established partnerships with over 50 universities worldwide. It oversees PhD student exchange programs, allowing doctoral candidates to spend short research periods abroad (ranging from 6 to 12 months). Additionally, through the DAAD organization, the office provides financial support of approximately €1,000 per student to displaced undergraduate students, helping them continue their education.
Currently, the Office is working to recognize outstanding final-year student projects by awarding them opportunities to attend summer schools abroad.
