Two academics from Salahaddin University-Erbil (SUE) took part in an international scientific conference focusing on drought and climate change, presenting original research papers on environmental and geographical studies.
Prof. Dr Sleman Abdullah Ismail presented a research paper entitled “Geographical Analysis of Drought and Desertification Impacts on the Stability and Demographic Structure in Qaraj Subdistrict.”
Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Dr Honar Abdullah Kak Ahmad and Saad Hadi Hamo jointly presented their research titled “Geographical Analysis of Rainfall Variability in Bardarash District Using CHIRPS Data for the Period 1981–2024.”
The conference, dedicated to exploring the effects of drought and climate change, was held on 19–20 October 2025, with the participation of numerous researchers from Iraq, Morocco, Canada, Iran, and the United Kingdom.
This participation underscores SUE’s ongoing commitment to contributing to global academic dialogue on climate change, environmental sustainability, and regional resilience.
