On 23 September 2024, a tribute ceremony was held for artist and professor Talaat Aarif, attended by Dr Kamaran Younis M. Amin - President of Salahaddin University-Erbil, Umid Khoshnaw - the Governor of Erbil, Farhang Ghafoor, Vice Presidents of the University and professors.
The ceremony began with a discussion of the artist's biography and the milestones of his life.
At the end of the ceremony, a plaque of honour and a gift were presented to the artist.
