Within the framework of the campaign to combat violence against women, and under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Arts, Assistant Professor Dr Musa Mohammed Khidhir, the Cultural Committee of the College of Arts is organising a symposium entitled: "Violence Against Women: Between Challenges and Horizons of Protection"

Venue: Farhadi Hall, College of Arts
The following esteemed speakers will participate in the symposium:
• Ziba Taha Shahin: Secretary of the Kurdistan Women's Union, who will present a paper on Gender Discrimination in the Family and its Role in the Escalation of Violence Against Women.
• Mr Ari Rafiq: PhD Candidate and Assistant Director General of Counter-Violence in the Ministry of Interior, who will present a paper on Symbolic Violence and its Paradigms from the Perspective of Pierre Bourdieu.
• Assistant Lecturer Mr Hasan Waysi: College of Arts, Department of Social Work, who will present a paper on The Story of Killing as a Moral Choice in a Difficult Situation, and How Humans Behave in Adverse Circumstances.
The symposium will be managed by Dr Chinar Namiq, Head of the Cultural Committee.
