On November 6, 2025, a scientific debate titled “Contemporary Challenges for the Media
Information Environment and Solutions to Strengthen Awareness and Resilience” was held with the participation of Dr. Hiwa Majid, Dean of the College of Political Science, Dr. Musa, Dean of the College of Arts, and the Vice Consul of Poland, Mr. Michał, in the Kurdistan Region. The event was also attended by professors and students from the Colleges of Political Science, Law, and Arts—particularly students from the Department of Media.
The debate was organized through a collaboration between Salahaddin University–Erbil, the University of War Studies in Poland, and the Info Ops Polska Foundation, in cooperation with the Center for Political and Strategic Research of the College of Political Science.
During the event, a panel discussion was held featuring Prof. Witold Report, Dr. Ariana Ibrahim Mohammed, and Dr. Shwan Shwani, who shared their insights and expertise on the topic and several suggestions were talked about to control manipulation and misleading society via media and modern platforms of social media.
At the end of the event Dr. Awara Ibrahim, Director of Public Relations presented a commemorative logo to the Vice Consul of Poland in appreciation of their ongoing support and valued presence.
