A team of students from the English Department, College of Education at Salahaddin University-Erbil successfully participated in the Spring 2025 Global Solutions Conversations Program, a cross-cultural virtual initiative co-organized by the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) and Salahaddin University.
Running from February through March 2025, the program consisted of six interactive Zoom-based sessions aimed at developing global competencies among university students. Participants from Salahaddin University-Erbil and Kirkwood Community College (USA) engaged in binational dialogue teams to strengthen their intercultural communication skills and foster global citizenship.
Under the guidance of Lecturer Nawsha Ghaleb from Salahaddin University and Dr. Dawn Wood from Kirkwood Community College, the binational teams collaborated through the design thinking process to generate innovative, sustainable solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The program enabled students to explore real-world challenges through meaningful intercultural dialogue, co-creation, and critical thinking while building international friendships and academic partnerships. This initiative highlights Salahaddin University’s ongoing commitment to global engagement, intercultural learning, and sustainability education.
