Today, 5 September 2024, the first Syriac Symposium was held, attended by His Excellency Mr Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Asst. Prof. Dr Kamaran Younis Mohammad Amin, President of Salahaddin University-Erbil, Asst. Prof. Dr Mazen Abdul Khaliq, Dean of the College of Education, and Asst. Prof. Dr Samir Bilal, General Director of the Research Centre.
At the beginning of the symposium, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government delivered a speech, emphasizing the commitment to preserving and developing a culture of peaceful coexistence and harmony among the various components of the Kurdistan Region. The Prime Minister stressed the need for everyone to work towards further developing and strengthening the thought and spirit of coexistence, consolidating peace, harmony, and the principles of democracy, mutual acceptance, and respect for the religious values that lead to the advancement of our homeland and the preservation of the constitutional entity of the Kurdistan Region.
The Prime Minister called for collective efforts to strengthen the spirit of coexistence, reinforce peace and harmony, and uphold the principles of democracy, mutual acceptance, and respect for shared values. He noted that these efforts are crucial for the progress of the nation and the preservation of the constitutional framework of the Kurdistan Region.
