Today, 7 October 2025, Prof. Dr Kamaran Younis Mohammed-Amin, President of Salahaddin University–Erbil, together with Qaraman Osman, representative of Shifa Barzani, Yad Amin, President of the Kurdistani Youth Federation Abroad, and Zahir Zahir, Head of the Qallat Branch, welcomed 110 members of the Kurdistani Youth Federation Abroad to the university.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the President of Salahaddin University delivered a speech highlighting the important role of the Kurdistani diaspora in representing and promoting the Kurdish cause internationally. He emphasised that the diaspora plays a vital role in raising awareness of the Kurdish issue and supporting the legitimate rights of the people of Kurdistan.
He also referred to the coordination and memorandum of understanding between Salahaddin University–Erbil and the Kurdistani Youth Federation Abroad, noting the importance of continued cooperation between academic institutions and youth organisations.
Furthermore, the President stressed the need to uphold the Prime Minister’s directives regarding the preservation of national culture, language, and identity, describing it as both a duty and a responsibility that must be given serious attention by all.
The event concluded with a panel discussion entitled “The Role of Diaspora Youth as a Bridge of Connection: Identity and Homeland, Lobbying, Duty and Responsibility.”
The panel was moderated by Yad Amin, and featured the following speakers:
