
President of Salahaddin University Dr Ahmed Dezaye in archaeology conference.
Attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr Yousif Goran, President of Salahaddin University Dr Ahmed Dezaye and a number of MPs and governmental officials, Archeology Department at SUE arranged a seminar titled “Archeology and Kurdish Culture”.
The president of the University delivered a speech in which he emphasized getting benefit from the study of archaeological sites. For this reason, SUE has arranged a large number of local and international conferences on a regular basis. Dr Dezaye also emphasized the importance of archaeology for tourism and other sectors.
Later, Dr Yousif Goran delivered a speech in which he expressed thanks to the researchers and scholars in the field who have exerted efforts in research on the archaeology in Kurdistan. Other speakers in the conference also highlighted the significance of preserving archaeology in Kurdistan Region.
It is worth mentioning that the conference lasted two days in the Hall of Caucher Birkar in the Social and Cultural Centre of the University – 13 panels were included and 11 researchers and archaeologists participated with presentations.
