On 9 February 2026, Salahaddin University (SUE), in the presence of Prof Dr Kamaran Younis M. Amin, President of SUE, together with senior officials, university leaders and representatives of relevant ministries, hosted a conference addressing the outcomes of COP30 and their implications for the Kurdistan Region.
The conference reviewed the key conclusions of the 2025 UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) and explored their potential environmental, economic and social impact, particularly given the Region’s sensitivity to climate change.
Organised in cooperation with the Environmental Protection and Improvement Board, the event aimed to enhance coordination between academic and governmental institutions and to promote practical approaches to confronting climate challenges and protecting the future of coming generations.
