First conference on gold trade in Iraq and KRI sponsored by SUE
The first conference on trading gold in Iraq and KRI was held in the Rotana Hotel in Erbil supervised by the Ministry of Transport and Industry.
The conference was attended by government officials, experts, academics, local companies and SUE as the sponsor and the only academic body.
The conference consisted of three panels dedicated to topics about trading gold, income and taxes, as well as evaluating the trade in terms of Islamic laws.
On the other hand, they discussed how to turn KRI into a trade centre for gold alongside the international markets, which would bring economic benefit.
The conference ended with a number of suggestions posed, and its conclusions are to be collected in a report presented to the concerned parties.
