Prof. Dr. Kamaran, President of Salahaddin University-Erbil, and Dr. Awara, Director of the International Relations Office, warmly welcomed Ms. Maryam, Program Officer of the "Prospects for Peace through Education in Iraq" program in Erbil.
This seriously needed program is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ in partnership with the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).
Prof. Dr. Kamaran expressed his gratitude to DAAD for selecting Salahaddin University to work with and expressed hope for the continuation and expansion of the program.
This program currently supports undergraduate students at Salahaddin University by funding them complete their studies successfully, preparing them for the job market, and creating opportunities for academic and social engagement.
In addition, Prof. Dr. Kamaran acknowledged the valuable support that DAAD continues to offer postgraduate students (MSc and PhD) through various programs. Notably, several short-term research and lab-based projects have recently been funded, allowing MSc and PhD students to travel to Germany and conduct part of their practical or laboratory work at highly qualified German universities.
