On 3 December 2024, an award ceremony for high-achieving students in the Journalism Department was held, featuring prominent university officials and faculty members. The event was attended by Prof. Dr Musa Muhammad Khidr, Dean of the College of Arts; Dr Sasan Hikmat Ali, Deputy Dean; Dr Azad Abdulaziz, Head of the Journalism Department; and Mr Sangar Yusuf Salih, Program Coordinator from the Career Development Center (CDC), along with several faculty members and students.
Notably, in collaboration with CDC, the Country Vault Center distributed awards to nine outstanding students who ranked first, second, and third in the Journalism Department for the 2023-2024 academic year.
During the ceremony, Prof. Dr Sadiq Hamad Gharib Hamad Salih was also recognised as the department's best instructor and was presented with a bouquet by the students as a token of appreciation.
