International Cooperation and Partnerships

International collaboration is a cornerstone of progress and development in higher education. At Salahaddin University-Erbil, we recognize that building strong partnerships with global universities, institutions, and organizations is essential for academic advancement and for the internationalization of our university.
Over the past 15 years, Salahaddin University has actively pursued cooperation with international higher education universities to benefit from global best practices and to enhance the quality of our academic programs. These efforts have led to the signing of numerous Memoranda of Understanding and Agreements (MoUs/MoAs) with both local and international partners.
Our partnerships extend to renowned universities and prestigious research centers, aiming to foster academic and scientific cooperation. These agreements facilitate student and faculty exchanges, joint research initiatives, training programs, and the development of innovative higher education curricula.
Recent collaborations include agreements with several European and regional universities, such as:
- University of Pavia and University of Novara in Italy
- Leipzig University in Germany
- Swedish Knowledge and Research Center (SKRC) in Sweden
- Autonomous University of Barcelona (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) in Spain
- University of Warsaw in Poland
- Hashemite University in Jordan
These partnerships have supported our university through PhD student exchanges, academic training programs, and participation in international conferences through keynote speakers and collaborative events.
In addition to academic universities, we also work closely with international organizations such as DAAD and Spark, as well as local foundations including the Rwanga Foundation and SEED. These partnerships enrich our educational landscape and contribute to building a more globally connected academic community.
