
SUE students rank high in Middle East competition again
On 22nd December 2021, 12 countries took part in the ICT Huawei competition in Riadh, Saudi Arabia.
From the Iraqi universities, 1600 students participated in the preliminary tests among which 80 students were elected. Six students from SUE made it to the second round of the competition, along with one student from each of Lebanese-French University, Anbar University and Nineva University.
The competition comprised a theoretical and a practical part which lasted 6 hours.
Last year, SUE students were ranked second, and this year third.
In an interview, SUE President wished them success and offered support.
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in KRG, Dr Aram Mohammed Qadir also said that he was proud of the students to have been able to participate in such a competition and rank high.
It is worth mentioning that the team consisted of six students supervised by Dr Khattab Al-Hiti Head of Software Department at Anbar University and Ms Mardin Abdullah director of Huawei Centre and an instructor at the Software Department at SUE who had a considerable role in training the participants in the centre.
