SUE organizes worthy ceremony for ranking first in Iraq and Kurdistan Region
On 22 February, 2023, a ceremony was held at Dedaman Hotel in the presence of Mullah Mustafa Barzani, Asst. Prof. Dr Kamaran Younis M. Amin, President of Salahaddin University-Erbil, parties and government officials and presidents of universities.
Salahaddin University-Erbil has been ranked first among public and private universities in Iraq after the results of Google Citation in the latest publications of Clarivate website. This is despite the fact that medical colleges are not currently part of Salahaddin University - Erbil.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the President of the University delivered a speech and pointed out that Salahaddin University - Erbil is one of the oldest and largest universities in the Kurdistan Region, which was established in 1981. Since its establishment, medical colleges have been part of this university, but in 2005, Erbil Medical University was established, so the medical colleges separated from Salahaddin University and joined Erbil Medical University. The university is a member of the Association of International Universities. Currently, Salahaddin University has 16 colleges and 83 different academic departments. The total number of students is 22,942 with 2,543 teachers. Currently, Asst. Prof. Dr Kamaran Younis Mohammed Amin is the 15th President of Salahaddin University.
Salahaddin University is proud that over the years it has been able to educate thousands of students at the university, and become an academic resource to have hundreds of graduates who have gone on to become professors and university teachers and great figures in various fields to become influential people in society and take part in the development of the Kurdistan Region and maintain the foundations of this experience.
Along with the various successes of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Salahaddin University has achieved great success in educating an experienced, intellectual and civilized generation to continue to feel responsible and work for the development of society.
