Salahaddin University students win first place in a competition on global level
On 18th June 2022, eighty-five countries participated in the international competition of ICT Huawei arranged virtually.
Huawei competition is for the ICT Academy students as well as those in the higher education institutions who are willing to participate in ICT Academy worldwide.
Through this competition, Huawei aims to provide a platform for students to compete and exchange ideas in a wholesome way, thus developing their practical knowledge and skills in the field of ICT and boosting their creativity using new technologies and platforms. Since the first competition of 2015, the impact of ICT Huawei competition is constantly growing.
As of now ICT Huawei competition has continued for the sixth time, and 150000 students from more than 2000 universities and institutes across 85 countries have participated, 143 teams from 43 countries have qualified for the world competition.
Fortunately, after two teams from Iraqi universities had won third place in the Middle East, they participated in the international ICT competition in the field of Network Track, the test was conducted practically and in teams that lasted about 8 hours.
It is worth mentioning that the Salahaddin University-Erbil team won first place on the international level, and that is the first Iraqi university to have such an achievement.
The students of Salahaddin University-Erbil were Ayman Yousef Hama Sadiq, Mohammed Burhan Ahmed and Ahmed Mohammed, under the supervision of Dr Mardin Abdullah Anwar in the Department of Software at Salahaddin University and Director of Huawei Academy at Salahaddin University-Erbil.
The second team that won second place were Bilal Ibrahim, Mohammed Zewar, and Zainab Mohammed, supervised by Dr Khattab Al-Hiti, Head of the Software Department at Anbar University.
Here we send congratulations to Salahaddin University-Erbil on having 3 out of 6 students participate in the competition. These students were able to demonstrate their skills and intelligence in the field of technology and compete with students from international and renowned universities.
It is worth mentioning that heads of states, well-known universities and famous companies attended the event, and the media in the field of technology paid special attention to and published news on social media about this event.
