The University president, Asst. Prof. Dr Ahmed Dezaye and the University Vice-President for Administrative and Financial Issues Dr Jawher Fatah welcomed the Consul General of China in Erbil, Mr Ni-Ruchi.
The president first spoke about the historical background of the University and its ranking among the local and international university rankings – being ranked first among the universities in the Kurdistan Region.
The General Consul also commended the University as being a renowned university in the region – mentioning its role in higher education. His Excellency discussed the projects in which China wishes to support the Kurdistan Region, among the projects, such as establishing a Chinese language department in College of Languages of Salahaddin University in a near future.
This could lead to carrying out a further academic exchange between the University and the Chinese universities.
Another project was a Chinese universities exhibition in Erbil in which Salahaddin University will facilitate.
