Salahaddin University officially announces opening the Chinese Department
For the first time in Iraq and Kurdistan Region, Salahaddin University-Erbil (SUE) has opened the Chinese Department at the College of Languages and the students have started their first academic year.
The ceremony was attended by Dr Aram Qadir, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Deputy Speaker of the KRG Parliament Hemn Hawrami, the representative of Department of Foreign Relations Suham Jabaly, Consul General of the Republic of China, deans, teachers and university students.
Dr Ahmed Dezaye, the President of SUE, delivered a speech about SUE attempting to develop in all the fields; opening the Chinese Department is one of the SUE projects which comes after cooperation and agreement with Confucius organization and Chinese Consulate General cooperation.
In his speech, Dr Dezaye focused on communication with China as the largest economic country in the world. So opening the department is a gateway to establish effective relations with China.
The representative of the KRG Department of Foreign Relations discussed the developing relation between Kurdistan Region and the Chinese Republic.
Mr Ni-Ruchi, the Consul General of the Republic of China, delivered a speech in which he thanked SUE which has become a new bridge for the relations between KRG and China.
