After preparations for the international, Iraqi and KRG university rankings, Salahaddin University-Erbil (SUE) has seen a lot of progress in the rankings of Webometrics. In the web rankings, SUE has leapt from the 4485 of 2018 to 2709 of 2019 among the international universities; it was ranked 6th in Iraq, and 2nd in KRI.
It is worth mentioning that the University would have had a better ranking if not for two major factors. First, the University’s campus is not on one premise and the new campus has not been finished yet. Also, the University’s medical college split (and becoming a university) from the main university has affected SUE rankings. Hawler Medical University was ranked 4th in KRI and 3523 in the world.
Regardless of these factors, SUE takes pride in the fact other KRG universities have progressed in the rankings particularly, Sulaimani University, Koya University, Soran University, Hawler Polytechnic University and Hawler Medical University. SUE has expressed thanks to its both academic and administrative staff to have contributed to this success and it looks forward to furthering progress in the future.
