Salahaddin University-Erbil President Signs Memorandum of Understanding with American University of Duhok
On 15 August 2024, Asst. Prof. Dr Kamaran Younis M. Amin, President of Salahaddin University-Erbil (SUE), signed a memorandum of understanding with Prof. Dr Randall Rhodes, President of the American University of Duhok. The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr Hussein Saadi - Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr Sherif Mawlood, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education, and Dr Issam Khalil - Director of Relations.
President of SUE warmly welcomed the delegation from the American University of Duhok and expressed his enthusiasm for this visit. He provided an overview of SUE's history, including the number of colleges, departments, and centres. He also conveyed the university's willingness to establish academic, scientific, and administrative collaborations with the American University of Duhok.
For his part, President Rhodes expressed his team's appreciation for the warm reception and indicated their willingness to foster scientific relationships and cooperation between faculty and students of both institutions. The aim is to conduct various scientific projects in the future.
This meeting marks a significant step towards strengthening academic ties between the two universities, potentially opening new avenues for research and educational exchanges in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
