On 14 November 2024, an event was held celebrating the 5th anniversary of the Chinese Language Department, attended by Asst. Prof. Dr Kamaran Younis M. Amin, President of Salahaddin University-Erbil (SUE), Mr Liu Jun, Chinese Consul General in Kurdistan Region, President of Tishk University, Dr Saman Hussein - the Dean of the College of Languages, and numerous other attendees. During the ceremony, a car was gifted to one of the attendees, along with several other prizes presented to those who had visited China in recent years and shared their perspectives on Chinese culture through short videos.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the Chinese Consul General delivered a speech highlighting the importance of the Chinese Department and expressed his satisfaction with the department's notable academic and scientific progress over time.
In another part, the President of Salahaddin University-Erbil discussed the Chinese Consulate's role in encouraging teachers and students of the Chinese Department, emphasizing their commitment to supporting student development in every possible way.
The ceremony featured various activities with significant participation from Chinese Language Department students. Prizes were distributed to the first, second, and third-place winners of a competition, culminating in a car being awarded to one attendee through a random draw.
The event also included the opening of a new Scientific and Sports Unit at SUE's Cultural and Social Centre.
