Quranic and Hadith signs in Salahaddin University conference
Salahaddin University-Erbil (SUE) in cooperation with Kurdistan Centre for Quran and Hadith Scientific Miracles held an international conference titled "Scientific Evidence in the Quran and the Hadith".
The conference was held at the cultural and social centre of the university in which the president of the university, the head of Religious Scholars Union, some government officials, teachers and students were present.
In the beginning, Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences delivered a speech in which he mentioned the role of the University particularly in discussion of the religious issues. He mentioned that the college has a programme which promotes coexistence among the religions in society.
Later, Mr Faruq Yahya, Director of Kurdistan Centre for the Quran and Hadith Scientific Miracles spoke about the importance of arranging such conferences in an academic centre. He commended the role of SUE to have provided such an opportunity.
The University President, Dr Ahmed Dezaye, also said that SUE pays attention to and deals with the issues in the society academically and scientifically. He also mentioned the importance of the signs and miracles in the Quran and the importance of studying the Quran and the Hadith which go hand in hand with the latest scientifc progresses.
Head of the Religious Scholars Union, as a speaker, presented a topic in which he addressed the role of the Kurdish scholars in developing the Islamic sciences and he mentioned the Quran manuscripts in Kurdistan, among which one dates back to 900 years ago. This was followed by another presentation form Dr Salih Zangi who mentioned the Quanic and Hadith discourse in raising awareness in the society.
