President of Salahaddin University-Erbil signs MoU with President of Ataturk University
On 3 July 2024, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kamaran Younis M. Amin, President of Salahaddin University-Erbil (SUE) received Prof. Dr. Omar Çomakli, President of Ataturk University, and an accompanying delegation.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Hussein Saadi, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Prof. Dr Farhad Ali, Assistant President for Student Affairs and Education and Dr. Essam Khalil, Director of University Relations,
At the beginning of the meeting, the President of SUE expressed his delight at the visit of the delegation to the Kurdistan Region, Erbil and SUE. He briefed the delegation about SUE, colleges, departments, and the number of students and teachers. He spoke about the relations between SUE and Turkish universities. He said that SUE has strong academic relations with a significant number of different universities in Turkey and we will continue to coordinate and work together.
For his part, the President of Ataturk University expressed his happiness for this welcome and spoke about Ataturk University, the history of its establishment, colleges and departments, and said that this scientific memorandum is a positive step towards mutual work between SUE and Ataturk University. In the future, they will include exchange programs for students and teachers at both universities.
Dr. Çomakli also mentioned the Ataturk University Research Center and said that they have 50 research centres and there are 15 other centres that support the research centres and they are happy to foster contacts between teachers of SUE and Ataturk University to work on joint research in the future.
