"In the name of God, the Almighty, the Most Gracious
"41 years have passed since the former Iraqi regime began to destroy the villages of Kurdistan and Barzan and captured 8,000 men, women, and the youth of Barzan and after their arrest, they were massacred in the deserts of southern Iraq and only 6,000 bodies have been found. The graves of 2,000 people have not yet been found.
"The crimes and oppression committed against the Barzanis were because of their revolutionary nature and Kurdishness. The enemies of the Kurdish people wanted to destroy the freedom and Kurdishness of the Kurdish people by carrying out Anfal and genocide. The Kurdish people's freedom-fighting spirit became stronger against the oppression of the Ba'ath regime.
What we see now in prosperity, political, military, cultural and coexistence is the product of the revolution, sacrifice and blood of our people's martyrs and we will protect it with our souls and blood."
