Eight public universities in the Kurdistan Region (Salahaddin, Erbil Polytechnic, Dohuk Polytechnic, Raparin, Sulaimane, Sulaimane Polytechnic, Halabja and Charmo Universities) in addition to the Ministry of Higher education and Scientific research-KRG participated in the kick-off meeting of Erasmus plus TIGRIS -EU project, which was held on November 7-10th, 2017 at Georg August University Gottingen-Germany. The above-mentioned universities became a full partnership in this project. The aim of the project is concerned with how to internationalize Kurdistan universities. The project is financially co-funded by the European Union, and for three years starting from October 15th, 2017 which will terminate in October 14th, 2020. The project titled Transfer of Good Practices & Reinforcement of Internationalization Strategies in Kurdistan, TIGRIS. Also, assistant professor Dr Ahmed Anwar Dezaye president of Salahaddin University and Assistant professor Dr Mohammed Azeez Saeed, Director of International Office, participated in the meeting and presented a power point presentation on Salahaddin University in the meeting.
