Vise President of Salahaddin University-Erbil (SUE) with Dr. Laura Hawkins
Today Monday July 2nd, 2018 at 10 am, professor Dr. Mustafa Saber Mustafa acting president of Salahaddin University-Erbil received Dr. Laura Hawkins professor of ancient history of Iraq at Harvard University-USA. Dr. Laura Hawkins is on a mission to Kurdistan to prepare a feasibility study report on the possibility of opening Canadian Consulate here in Erbil-Kurdistan Region. In the meeting, the importance of having Canadian Consulate in Erbil from academic perspective were discussed.
Opening Canadian consulate in Erbil can become a mediator to establish communication of Kurdistan Universities with Canadian Universities for academic cooperation including students, staff exchange, joint research, joint postgraduate supervisions and staff visit. Kurdistan Universities can benefit from Canadian Universities experience in modern teaching methodologies and research in higher education institutions. Canadian universities in Quebec can help department of French language at Salahaddin University in developing curriculum and programs of the study and the capacity building of the teaching staff through workshops trainings academic sessions.
Dr.Mohammed Azeez Saeed, the director of Grants and Academic projects and Dr.Mazin Abdulkhaliq Othman, the director of international relations were participated in the meeting.
