Debate Committee held a meeting at Salahaddin Entrepreneurship Education Centre
On Thursday, 31st Oct. 2019, the Debate Committee held a meeting at Salahaddin Entrepreneurship Education Centre, College of Basic Education, Salahaddin University-Erbil. The meeting was held with the presence of the committee members, the representatives of most of the participant universities, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Attar, Vice-president for Scientific Affairs & Higher Education, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Serwan Arab Sadiq, the Dean of College of Basic Education. After giving a welcome remark by Mr. Bukhari Abdullah, the head of the committee, and both Prof. Attars and Prof. Sadiqs speech, a number of lots were drawn for:
First: identifying the two opposing teams
Second: choosing each pair of Universities topics for the first round
Third: assigning “Yes side” and “No side” of each debate topics to the universities.
Finally, several other issues were discussed namely the regulations and laws of the debate bylaw, the selection procedure of the referee committee as well as the rubric that is used to assess student debaters.
