Attended by the deans of the college of Salahaddin University-Erbil and a large number of university instructors, Bologna Workshop Process went underway in the Social and Cultural Centre of the University.
In the beginning of the workshop the University President delivered a speech in which he spoke about the ongoing activities regarding the Bologna process. He maintained that through the workshops, seminars and other projects the University works towards the implementation of the Bologna process. Salahaddin University-Erbil has been at the forefront of the universities in Kurdistan Region. This year, Dr Dezaye said, they will work to make it to Group A of the rankings which has never been reached by any other universities in the region.
Later, a number of seminars were delivered in which they included: ‘Bologna System’ by Asst. Prof. Dr Salih Yahya, ‘Student-Centered System in Focus’ by Dr Dilan Roshati, ‘Implementation of Bologna Process in Charmo University’ by Mr Shakhawan and 'Pedagogical Reform in Kurdistan' mutually by Asst. Prof. Dr Abbas Burhan and Dr Karwan Wasman.
After the presentation of all the seminars, there was a heated discussion about the process.
It was worth mentioning that, in 1999 as part of Bologna process, the European Education Ministers convened to unify and parallelize education programmes in Europe. The process was first implemented in 27 European countries and now followed by 45 countries.
The Kurdistan Region univeristies now are attempting to implement the process in the region in order to unify education.
