Engineering and Projects Departments
1. Architectural department:
Architectural engineering job involves designing, constructing, maintaining and renovating buildings, including interior and exterior systems such as structural, lighting, fire protection, acoustics and more, our engineers are executing the design drawing of all the university`s college buildings and dormitories. Our engineers are evaluating architectural plans for design feasibility, safety and adherence to building codes and other municipal regulation, international and Iraqi standard and according to our region environment for selecting the construction materials.
2. Civil department:
Civil engineers are creating, improving and protecting the environment in which we live, they plan, design and oversee construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure, a large building that withstands all weather conditions. Our civil engineers are preparing the bill of quantity for required materials and work, determining the project implementation duration, surveying and assessing potential construction sites for the projects suitability, estimating cost and managing works, testing and analyzing construction materials for safety, strength, stability and overall project checking and receiving and project approval and determining optimal materials for our projects building and preparation of work measuring and evaluation before and after project completion.
3. Electrical and Lighting system department:
Evaluating electrical systems, products, components and applications by designing preparation of work measuring and evaluation, preparation bill of quantity, testing before and after project completion and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electricity and materials, confirm systems and components capabilities by designing testing methods, testing properties, checking the work before receiving and approving the project.
4. Mechanical and plumbing system department:
Our mechanical engineer's job description involves the followings:
Plumbing engineers design and draft plumbing systems for our buildings and facilities, this job involves managing project budgets, designing and implementing plumbing systems, supervising, carrying out tests on systems and making changes to plans where necessary layout of energy distribution, water pipes, pumps, storage tanks and identifying relevant materials, drawing up plans using computer-aided design and building information modeling software, preparation of work measuring, testing and evaluation before and after project completion
Our mechanical engineers are doing the design, installation, put on the operation, maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, cooling and refrigeration systems. HVAC Engineers play an important role in the dormitories building by following the maintenance and putting on operation all HVAC equipment, pumps, boilers, piping and all other accessories, ensuring proper climate control of the building.
Our mechanical engineers are preparing the design of the firefighting system according to the NEFPA codes for different buildings, they determine fire protection methods, recommend materials or equipment such as fire-detection equipment, sprinkler, fire cabinet or fire distinguish, installation, maintenance and operation of fire protection systems.
5. Administration department:
Administrations are crucial to the effective and efficient day to day operations, our administrator is responsible for supporting our employees in a variety of ways including bookkeeping, logistics and the following duties:
- Management of office equipment like PC, Printing and copying machine.
- Maintaining a clean working environment.
- Handling internal and external communication.
- Managing all documents related to the universities projects and contractors for executed and under implementation projects.
- Managing office employees’ attendance and departure and reporting.
- Sorting and distributing incoming and outgoing post.
- Organizing, arranging and coordinating meetings.
