
In the presidency office, Asst. Prof. Dr Ahmed Dezaye, University President, hosted a delegation of Spark, a Dutch organisation, consisting of the Director of Spark in KR Rahel Aziz, the project manager Yasin Rashid and Hogir Abul-Rahman project coordinator.
In the meeting, they discussed the cooperation between Salahaddin University and Spark in which $50k is allocated to the Syrian students in KR to study at Salahaddin University. More than a hundred students study at various colleges. The fund, collected by the organisation with the help of UN, will be invested in renovating labs, lecture halls and libraries so that all university students could get benefit from the project.
It is worth mentioning that SU president as part of the delegation of Ministry of Higher Education participated in the 3rd conference of Spark in the Netherlands in November 2015 which was held on entrepreneurship in the unstable countries, job hunting for university graduates and accessing Syrian migrant students in KR universities.
