Presidential Authority
The President of Salahaddin University-Erbil serves as the institution’s highest executive officer, entrusted with the leadership, governance, and strategic vision of the University. As the chief representative and decision-maker, the President ensures that all academic, administrative, and financial functions operate in alignment with the University’s mission and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Chairing the University Council: Convening and presiding over both regular and extraordinary meetings; ensuring the implementation of Council resolutions.
- External Representation: Serving as the official representative of the University in all external engagements — locally, nationally, and internationally across both public and private sectors.
- Strategic Oversight: Leading the University’s academic, financial, and administrative functions in compliance with applicable laws, institutional policies, and quality standards.
- Asset Management: Supervising the stewardship of all University assets, including movable property and real estate, in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
- International Engagements: Authorizing contracts with international academic staff, consultants, and professional entities to advance institutional goals.
- Academic Affairs: Approving academic delegations, sabbaticals, scholarships, and visiting faculty appointments, in line with academic policies and institutional priorities.
- Leadership Appointments: Appointing assistant deans and department heads based on nominations from deans of colleges and institutes.
- Staff Development: Overseeing the professional growth, promotion, and performance evaluation of faculty and administrative staff.
- Delegated Authority: Entrusting vice presidents, deans, or other designated leaders with specific mandates to ensure efficient governance and operational excellence.
