Globalisation at SUE
International cooperation in higher education is a cornerstone of academic progress and institutional development. Meaningful partnerships with global universities, institutions, and organisations play a vital role in the internationalisation and advancement of any university. In recognition of this, Salahaddin University-Erbil has actively engaged in building relationships with renowned international partners to benefit from global expertise in higher education.
Since 2010, Salahaddin University-Erbil has signed over 280 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Agreements (MoAs) with both local and international universities and academic institutions. These agreements aim to foster academic and scientific collaboration, including student and staff exchange programmes, joint research, and the enhancement of academic programmes.
Salahaddin University-Erbil has also benefited from participation in several prestigious international scholarship and cooperation programmes, including:

- IREX – US–Iraqi University Linkages Programme

- Erasmus+ / OPATEL (Funded by the European Union, coordinated by Leipzig University of Applied Sciences, Germany)
Through these partnerships and programmes, SUE continues to strengthen its global engagement, enhance academic quality, and support the international mobility of its students and staff.
