On April 17, 2025, the Career Development Center at the College of Administration and Economics, in collaboration with the College Dean and the Quality Assurance Department, organized an insightful seminar aimed at both lecturers and students. The event focused on the significance of working in the private sector and the legal safeguards that protect employee rights under the laws of the Kurdistan Region. It was conducted in alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, emphasizing the need for inclusive, non-discriminatory employment practices and the enforcement of fair labor standards.
The seminar highlighted the vital role of the private sector in driving economic growth and job creation while underlining the importance of ensuring that employees are aware of and benefit from their legal rights. Special attention was given to legal provisions that aim to eliminate workplace discrimination and promote decent working conditions. The subjects were presented by Avan Mohsen Rashid, Judge of the Labor Court, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Mahabad Saadi, President of Arkad Organization for Development and a lecturer in the Department of Business Administration. After the seminar, Assist. Lect. Harem Haider Qadir delivered an appreciation on behalf of the college dean, extending sincere thanks to all participants and organizers for their active engagement.
