On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the Career Development and Entrepreneurship Center (CDC) at Salahaddin University–Erbil (SUE) organized a seminar to introduce the Fulbright Foreign Student Program 2027 to university students, graduates, and employees.
As part of the event, Assist. Prof. Dr. Saman Hussein, Dean of the College of Languages, welcomed Mr. Amiral Ibrahim, Program Manager at AMIDEAST. The meeting, attended by Ms. Niaz Najm, CDC Coordinator and a Fulbright Program alumna (2025 cohort), focused on key academic and cultural topics and emphasized the strategic importance of international scholarship programs in enhancing academic excellence, cross-cultural engagement, and professional development. The discussion also explored future collaboration opportunities between Salahaddin University–Erbil and AMIDEAST.
The seminar officially commenced in the presence of Dr. Soran Mamend Abdullah, Assistant Dean, Prof. Dr. Jawan Abdullah Banan, Head of the English Department, along with faculty members, administrative staff, graduates, and students. The opening session featured an overview of the CDC’s mission, services, and ongoing initiatives, as well as a brief introduction to the Fulbright Program, delivered by Dr. Zhino Bakhtiar and Lect. Darya Surkew, members of the CDC Committee at the College of Languages.
Following this, Mr. Amiral Ibrahim provided a comprehensive presentation on the Fulbright Program, detailing its objectives, eligibility criteria, application requirements, and step-by-step guidance on the online submission process. Additionally, Ms. Niaz Najm shared her personal academic and cultural journey as a Fulbright scholar, highlighting her two-year experience in the United States, during which she earned a master’s degree in English and served as an Arkansas Goodwill Ambassador. Her inspiring testimony offered participants valuable insights into the transformative impact of the program. The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session.
