From July 23-25, 2024, a workshop on the establishment and management of business incubators was held at the Crystal Hotel in Erbil. Organized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in collaboration with the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the event brought together key stakeholders to advance entrepreneurial support systems in the region.
Among the participants were directors of Career Development Centers (CDCs) from public universities, including Salahaddin University’s CDC, which played an active role in discussions on fostering and managing business incubators. These incubators aim to support startups, drive innovation, and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Kurdistan Region.
Moving forward, the implementation of these initiatives will be supported by UNDP and USAID, further enhancing opportunities for young entrepreneurs and contributing to sustainable economic development.
