On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the College of Primary Education hosted a dynamic and insightful debate on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. The event was a collaborative effort between the Career Development Committee (CDC) and the Cultural Committee of the English Department.
The central question driving the discussion was: "Does AI in education widen or reduce student learning?" This thought-provoking debate brought together students from the English Department and the English Department of Shaqlawa Education College, aiming to enhance their critical thinking and analytical skills while preparing them for the evolving demands of the labor market.
The debate featured in-depth discussions, where students engaged in intensive exchanges of ideas, exploring both the opportunities and challenges AI presents in the educational landscape. Participants examined AI’s role in personalized learning, accessibility, and skill development, while also addressing concerns about over-reliance on technology and its impact on traditional learning methods.
The event concluded with a note of appreciation from the Dean of the College, who commended the students and educators for their active participation and valuable contributions. The session not only enriched the participants' perspectives on AI in education but also reinforced the importance of critical discourse in shaping the future of learning.
