Upon an invitation from the World Bank, Dr. Ahmed Anwar Dezaye, President of Salahaddin University and Dr. Lazgin Abdi Jamil, President of Zakho University and a delegation from the KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research,participated in an international conference in Tunisia. The conference was on managing quality assurance of higher education in the Middle East and North Africa Region (MENA).

It is worth mentioning that in recent years the World Bank has been focusing on quality assurance of higher education and university accreditation. In the last two years the World Bank has conducted evaluation for 15 Iraqi universities; including Salahaddin University which is in the lead for quality assurance management of higher education.

In the two-day conference various presentations were made by experts on the management of quality assurance in universities.
