Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Anwar Dezaye the University President, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Lazgin Abdi Jameel the president of Zakho University, participated in the meeting of 200 Chinese and Arab country university presidents in Jordan which was hosted by the Association of Arab Universities and Zarqa Private University.
In the meeting, an academic collaboration between the Chinese and Arab country universities was discussed. SU and Zakho University took part in the discussions, and fostering undertakings with the accredited Chinese universities was deemed a necessity to develop Kurdistan Region’s higher education.
Also in the meeting, a Chinese media conducted an interview with SU president who touched upon the academic developments in the Kurdistan Region. The president also showed the willingness to welcome Chinese students at SU. For that purpose, SU and the Chinese Institute for Languages reached a deal to send three students from China to pursue linguistic studies at SU.
At the end, both SU and Zakho university offered presents to the Chinese delegate and Zarqa University.
