
In the main office of the DAAD in Bonn, Germany, Asst. Prof. Dr Ahmed Dezaye met with Dr Dorothea Ruland the Secretary General, Head of Cooperation Projects in the Middle East Dr Renate Dieterich, and Isabell Mering Head of Education Projects in the Middle East.
In the meeting, the university president expressed thanks to the organisation to have supported and cooperated with Salahaddin University in the fields of economics with the University of Erlangen, mechanics engineering with Freiberg University, and language and education with Leipzig University.
The future of German Language Department at SU was under discussion.
DAAD offered further support for the department concerning providing lecturers, establishing masters and Ph.D. programs for the graduates of the department, and self-funded students who pursue further studies in Germany. At the same time, sponsored by DAAD, a number of students will be sent to participate in the summer training in Germany. The Secretary-General also welcomed any further mutual undertakings in the fields of chemical engineering and archaeology.
Later, in a video conference, the university president delivered a presentation to Leipzig University. Both Salahaddin University and Leipzig University agreed upon the continuation of the mutual project, providing lecturers to the department, and offering 20-25 places to the prospective students in the next year.
