In the presidency of SU, Assist. Prof. Dr Ahmed Dezaye welcomed a delegate of French Consulate in Kurdistan Region headed by Dominique Mas the Consul General of France in Erbil, Collaboration, Cultural and Humanitarian Advisor Terry Dana, and Director of French Institute Boris James in IFPO. Also in the meeting, the Dean of Engineering College Dr Safin Yasin and Head of Architecture Department Dr Mahmoud Khayat were present.
SU President discussed strengthening the academic and cultural relationship between French universities and SU, especially in terms of archaeology and architecture. On the other hand, they planned a mutual undertaking of a workshop on architecture and archaeology in December with the assistance of the pertinent organisations in Erbil, SU and French universities. Moreover, a committee was formed of the Head of Architecture Department in SU and Boris James in the French Institute IFPO for making necessary preparations to bring about a practical and academic success of the workshop.
Finally, Dr Dizayee presented SU gifts to the guest delegate and they, in turn, expressed thanks to SU for having worked continuously in carrying out academic projects despite the humanitarian and financial crisis in the area.
