
Dr. Ahmed Anwer Dezaye the President of Salahaddin University along with the accompanied delegation from Kurdistan region consisting of representatives of higher education, Duhok Polytechnic University and American University in Sulaymania, presented a workshop concerning Syrian Immigrants Students in Istanbul.
This activity has been arranged by Spark organization and International Institute of Alfanari Media for Education with the participation of a number of civil society organizations, university chancellors, university representatives and a number of Syrian students.
In this workshop, the President of Salahaddin University dedicated a speech regarding the immigrants’ state in Kurdistan in general, especially the Syrian students in Kurdistan universities. Salahaddin University has nearly 200 Syrian students in all the colleges and departments.
In the two-day workshop, Salahaddin University expressed will that with financial support and the support from the international organizations, they can accept a large number of students who can also study in the evening departments. Accordingly, the organizations and the Syrian civil community organizations expressed their deep thanks and appreciation for the Kurdistan Region’s attitude. They also asked the active organizations to secure needed budget to start with the process. It is important to be mentioned that the workshop lasted for two days 6-7 October 2015.
