In the presidency office in Erbil, SU president welcomed a delegation of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad from Iran which included the vice university president Dr. Mohammed Reza Hashimi, Director of Persian Language Centre Dr. Ihsan Qbul, and Director of Cultural Affairs in Iranian Consulate in Kurdistan Region.
In the meeting, the university president discussed support of Persian Language Centre at Ferdowsi University for Persian Department at SU in terms of curriculum and teaching staff. Moreover, they discussed establishing a language training centre to offer a certification similar to that of IELTS and TOEFL which is required for the pursuit of masters and Ph.D. studies.
Also in the meeting, they discussed exchanging teachers and students between both parties so that Persian Department at SU will be able to provide teaching staff for the upcoming academic years
