Dr. Ahmed Anwar Dezaye, the President of Salahaddin University and member of the executive committee of the Association of Arab Universities (AARU), participated in meeting between 25 Arab universities and Chemnitz University in the German Saxony Region. Dr. Sultan Abu Urabi, the Secretary General of AARU, representatives of the Union of German Universities, DAAD organization and the Union of Universities in Saxony participated in the meeting. In the meeting many speeches and seminars were presented on the roles of the German universities and the possibilities of establishing relations and benefiting from the abilities of Chemnitz University of Technology. In relation to Salahaddin University topics were discussed regarding joint PhD programmes, sending student to study Masters and PhD in English language in engineering, sciences and computer studies; as this University is a leading institute in research on computer studies, automobile, electrical and mechanical industries.
During the meeting the University President had a side-meeting with Head of DAAD and a German instructor in our University. In the meeting they discussed the developments in the Department of German Language; as some of the German instructors are not allowed back into the country because of the security condition. To this end they agreed to conduct the final stage's winter semester in Leipzig University in Germany for five weeks as an intensive course and for the other stages our instructors manage the courses in coordination with Leipzig University.
