Under the supervision of the KRG Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani and presence of a number of government officials, teachers and researchers, an international conference was arranged for basic and practical sciences in the Saad Abdullah Palace. The conference was arranged through a cooperation of SUE with Airlangga University in Indonesia and Malaysia Technical University.
Also in the meeting, the Interior Minister Karim Sinjari, Erbil Governor Newzad Hadi, representative of Higher Education of Iraq Selam Khoshnaw, Secretary General of Arabic Universities Sultan Orabi, Orhan Azizoglu, university presidents, deans of colleges, university instructors were present. The president of SUE, Ahmed Dezaye delivered a speech. He stated, “Arranging this conference is a crucial step in the process of promoting the level of KRG universities to that of the international ones.” He also mentioned that SUE will arrange other mutual undertakings with the universities which have participated in the conference.
Following that Newzad Hadi and Karim Sinjari delivered their speech in which they respectively highlighted the importance of the University for the City Erbil and the government. It worth mentioning that Mr Sinjari read the speech of Head of the Council of Ministries of KRG.
This is the sixth round of Basic and Practical Sciences Conference which is held every two years in a certain country. In 2013, it was held in Indonesia, in Malaysia in 2015 and this year in SUE in Kurdistan Region. It will continue through 18-19 March 2017.
