This multidisciplinary and international symposium on the History of Education and Minorities in Iraq brings together researchers from Iraq, Germany and Austria to discuss innovative research, methodological approaches, challenges and case studies related to the history of education in Iraq.
We welcome original submissions from all disciplines related to the overarching theme, including education, history, social anthro-pology, political science and sociology.
Possible topics include (but are not limited to):
- case studies on institutions, networks, groups and key actors in the field of Iraqi education;
- research into the development of education systems, education policies and reform;
- cultural history perspectives on norms, values and practices related to education;
- including teaching methods and syllabi, text books and other material aspects;
- input on relevant concepts, including minorities, gender dimensions, inequality, religion, memory studies, (post-)colonial power dynamics, reform and transition;
- digitalization, digital humanities approaches and questions of archiving in history of education.
