On 2 February 2026, and in the presence of Prof Dr Kamaran Younis, President of Salahaddin University (SUE); a representative of the Barzani Headquarters; a representative of the Private Office of H.E. Nechirvan Barzani; Mr Hajar Osman, Administrator of Branch Two; Dr Amanj Bradosti, Head of the University District; Prof Dr Hussein Saadi, Assistant President of SUE; Prof Dr Musa Mohammed, Acting Dean of the College of Arts; Prof Dr Hiwa Majid, Acting Dean of the College of Political Sciences; and Zahir Zahir, Head of the Qelat Branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Students and Youth Union, a symposium titled “Idris Barzani: A Symbol of Diplomacy, Peace and Unity” was held to commemorate the anniversary of the passing of leader and Peshmerga Idris Barzani.
The symposium was organised jointly by the College of Arts and the College of Political Sciences.
